This is the time of life that we all hope to be enjoying. Some like watching the grandkids growing, learning and playing. Some like to go travelling and in general, do whatever your heart’s desire. However, the majority of people in their senior years spend most of their time in pain and discomfort. This is due to common conditions such as arthritis, osteoarthritis, short term memory loss, heart disease, and diabetes’s. Weight gain can also pose a problem for seniors especially when heart disease and arthritis is present.
Together we will look at what you are eating. The reason for doing this is to find any foods that are making your condition worse. These foods we will take out of your normal diet in stages simply to make it easy for you. We also add in food that is missing and will help improve your condition. In some cases it’s well worth taking some supplements for a while to give you a bit of a helping hand to better health.
Then we look at what you’re drinking. Some drinks are better for you than others. Water for example helps to reduce the severity of your condition by as much as 60%. Drinks containing caffeine, sugar and carbonised drinks will make your condition worse by dehydrating you and depleting you of minerals. Therefore we need to ensure that you are drinking enough water. Everybody needs to be drinking at least two litres of water a day to be well hydrated. Herbal teas are well worth drinking and are useful for the treatment of many conditions commonly seen in senior health concerns.
Increasing blood circulation around your body to all your organs and brain is very important. Studies have shown increased blood flow to the brain not only improves memory but it helps you to feel better and more energised as well. Finding the exercise that suits you if you aren’t already doing any exercising and how much you do is going to make quite a bit of difference to your health.
