When you find yourself in the midst of a stressful situation or event, your body tenses up along with your organs. When this happens, the blood supply to your body’s tissue and organs becomes restricted. Blood carries oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and organs, which is essential if your organs are to work effectively.
For this reason alone it is very important to manage any stress. There are two main kinds of stress and they are; mental (or emotional) stress and physical stress. Let’s look at them in a little more detail.
This is the stress that you can’t see any tangible effects of straight away, however over an extended period of time your body will show signs and then manifest stress related illnesses. Most of the time, the first signs of stress are very subtle. They will become more apparent as time passes if they are not addressed and resolved.
Diseases such as heart disease, stomach ulcers, fibromyalgia, kidney disease and some cancers have been proven to be caused by or made worse by mental and physical stress.
Some causes of mental stress are:
Nutritional and herbal medicines along with stress management techniques can help your body deal with stress and will help your body heal itself.
Physical stress can be nutritional deficiencies, muscle and/or soft tissue injury, spine misalignment and of course disease and can be addressed with a few different techniques. Finding the cause of your particular problem is going to result in the quickest and most effective treatment.
Nutritional deficiencies combined with “inherent tendencies” are great stressors to your body, more often than not, resulting in disease. Supporting the organ/s related to the resulting disease and replenishing any deficiencies will go a long way to addressing this particular stressor.
Physical stressors such as muscle injury resulting in any kind of pain such as; back pain, headaches and alike will, over time, deplete you of nutrients because your body is fighting to defend itself against illness. To treat these issues, you will need to take supplements to replenish the minerals lost and massage to address the injury itself.
