Weight Loss

Weight loss is so much more than reducing your dress size/s. There is so much more to gain than that. You become healthier and have a clearer head. You reduce your risk of developing heart disease, diabetes and other weight related diseases.


Mind power is the power!

We will also look at how you think and feel about yourself and the world around you. Your own thoughts can help or hinder you. Let’s get them helping you. Together we can sit down and define what you want to achieve and set out easily managed steps for you to take bringing you closer and closer to your goals, so you reach them as quickly as you can.

For most people these are definately very good reasons to lose weight; however they still struggle with losing the weight they are so willing to shed. Something stops them or they lose the weight and it just comes right back. Especially when an emotional event is occurring. Does this sound like you?


So how can a naturopath help me lose weight and keep it off?

First of all; we will help you to discover how you and your body work together. We will turn things you find difficult into things you can manage with ease.


We will look in-depth at:

Food

  1. What, how and when you eat will influence how much and how quickly you will lose weight. The information I give you may even pleasantly surprise you!
  2. Metabolism is the process by which your body converts food into energy. During this biochemical process, calories — from carbohydrates, fats and proteins — are combined with oxygen to release the energy your body needs to function.
  3. We will find out if your metabolism is working for you or against you. If it’s working against you we will get it working for you and then you will see the weight fall off you.
  4. Water; are you drinking enough for your body to function correctly and are you getting rid of the toxic waste that will be having an adverse effect on your ability to lose weight?
  5. Detoxification and liver function is vital to weight loss and increase of energy. If toxic waste is not removed from your system your body has to process it repeatedly using energy that could be used for weight loss.

Sleep

Sleep is the time when your body can repair and regenerate. If you are not getting quality sleep due to sleep apnoea and or snoring your body will not be regenerating as it really needs to. A lack of sleep is often related to weight gain, however that’s not the only reason.

Weight gain has known to be influenced as a direct result of a lack of sleep. This is because when we become sleep deprived we tend to simply grab whatever is at hand. When this happens over a long period of time, we have unwittingly developed a “bad” habit. Fortunately, breaking that habit is just as easy as forming it. This is done by focusing on a “good” habit instead of the bad one.

Exercise

Exercise will give you more energy as you burn stored energy (or fat reserves), but most people say they don’t have any energy in the first place. So how are you supposed to get started? Well let's sort out any sleep and toxic waste issues, then we can get you motivated with some very easy and small goals.
